Finally! Pic’s together with Whittaker’s in a star jar

January 2021 was an exciting month, helping our client Pic’s Peanut Butter to spread the word about its brand new product, Pic’s Peanut & Chocolate Butter. The new spread is a collaboration with Whittaker’s, another much-loved, Aotearoa New Zealand family-owned business.

WaltersPR collaborated with the Pic’s team on communication strategy during the product’s development, including working on key messaging and frequently asked questions. We also developed a list of key recipients for a product mail out and wrote and distributed a media release to a wide list of New Zealand media (including a small sprinkling of Australian media that report in/cover NZ), that work in print media, online media, TV and radio; as well as foodie bloggers, celebrity foodies and cooks, other stakeholders, and a range of other freelance journalists in NZ that work across a wide section of media.

The launch has received a lot of very positive media attention, including coverage in the New Zealand Herald, TV1, NZ Woman’s Weekly, Supermarket News and NewsHub, with more coverage yet to come. Nelson Tasman foodie and journalist Neil Hodgson interviewed Pic’s Peanut Butter owner and founder, Pic Picot, and has written a lovely piece for the Stuff Life & Style section – read it here.
